We Successfully Organized 2024 Mini-Symposium on Earth-Abundant Metal Catalysis.
2024年丰产金属催化论坛成功举办
On November 4, 2024, the 2024 Tsinghua University Mini-Symposium on Earth-Abundant Metal Catalysis was held at Zheng Yutong Lecture Hall in the Science Building. Organized by Prof. Qiang Liu’s research group from the Center for Basic Molecular Science at Tsinghua University, this forum gathered distinguished scholars worldwide. The event featured eight invited academic presentations by renowned experts, delivering an intellectual feast for attendees. Prof. Karl Kirchner from TU Wien presented groundbreaking work on Mn(I)-catalyzed activation of E-H bonds (E=H, C, Si, B). Prof. Shoufei Zhu from Nankai University elucidated the critical influence of catalyst spin states on reaction mechanisms. Prof. Congyang Wang from the Chinese Academy of Sciences highlighted applications of earth-abundant metals in transforming resource molecules. Prof. Zhan Lu from Zhejiang University discussed cobalt- and iron-enabled asymmetric synthesis. Prof. Shigeyoshi Inoue from Technical University of Munich shared latest advances in aluminum complex-mediated inert bond activation. Prof. Xiaoming Zeng from Sichuan University revealed unique catalytic activities of carbene chromium complexes in hydrogenation and cross-coupling reactions. Prof. Lei Liu from Shandong University demonstrated innovative applications of earth-abundant metals in asymmetric oxidations. Host researcher Associate Prof. Qiang Liu from our department provided in-depth insights into anionic transition metal hydrogen catalysis systems.
